About Trust Your Dog K9 Academy

With over 13 years of experience working with dogs, I founded Trust Your Dog K9 Academy to help owners build strong, lasting relationships with their canine companions. My training philosophy is rooted in communication, not just commands—focusing on mutual understanding and trust between dog and handler.

I served 8.5 years in the U.S. Air Force as Security Forces, specializing as a military working dog handler. During my service, I completed the Military Working Dog Handler Course and the Department of Defense Trainer/Kennel Master Course, gaining extensive knowledge in canine behavior, training methodologies, and high-pressure operational environments. After leaving the military, I continued expanding my expertise through various professional training courses, ensuring that my methods evolve with the latest advancements in dog training and behavior.

With a rapport-based approach, I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all methods. Instead, I focus on understanding each dog as an individual and tailoring training to their unique needs.
